Why golfers should be interested in Pilates:
  • correct posture - neutral spine position for correct swing
  • core strength and endurance - more stamina to prevent fatigue setting in before the end of a round
  • core strength and power - more yards / meters of drive
  • improved range of motion in hip and shoulder for better posture and swing
  • PGA Tour physician, Dr. Vijay Vad recommends Pilates for golfers and wrote an article for the July/August 2006 PIlatesStyle magazine in which he describes the specific benefits of Pilates for increasing stamina, improving swing technique and preventing injury

Why everyone should be interested in Pilates:
  • functional strength - not just gym strength, but strength for real day to day tasks
  • core strength prevents injury, particularly to the lower back
  • can prevent, alleviate and improve chronic back, neck, hip and shoulder pain
  • easily practiced at home
  • minor injuries will not prevent you from getting your mat-based workout
