ACUPUNCTURE AND IBS, DYSMENORRHOEA

This interesting opinion paper has been released by the UK's Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in relation to the use of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of chronic pelvic pain (CPP) in women. Although there was no reliable evidence for the effective treatment of CPP, the paper calls attention to the effectiveness of acupuncture in the treatment of contributing conditions such as dysmenorrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome.
